RECYCLING AND ENVIRONMENT

A basic rule to care for and protect our environment is to reduce the volume of waste or garbage generated. Simply put, 3Rs help generate less waste, save, and be a more responsible consumer. And best of all, the economic benefits are evident in the short term.

The environmental benefits of recycling paper and cardboard are very diverse. For each ton of paper that is collected and recycled, two (2) cubic meters are saved in the landfill space, 140 liters of oil, 50,000 liters of water and the emission of 900 kilos of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of greenhouse gases causing climate change.

A nivel químico los plásticos son polímeros (que son unas sustancias formadas por enormes cadenas de moléculas repetidas), la gran mayoría sintéticos, que debido a sus excelentes propiedades tienen enorme cantidad de usos o aplicaciones, quizás más que otros materiales con más años en el mercado, como pueden ser los metales, el vidrio o la madera.

The massive manufacture of tires and the difficulties of making them disappear once used is one of the most serious environmental problems in recent years worldwide. A tire needs large amounts of energy to make (half a barrel of crude oil to make a truck tire) and it also causes, if not properly recycled, great environmental pollution by generally being part of uncontrolled landfills.

The glass recycling chain is actually a circle in which packaging comes to life infinitely many times. Unlike what happens with other components, glass can be recycled in its entirety, 100%. It is a perfect example of sustainability and a circular economy.
